Personal profile

I am a seasoned educator, an academic, a trainer, a chartered accountant and a mentor. I hold a Diploma in Computer Science, a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Applied Accounting and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). I am currently undergoing my PhD at the prestigious ÖÆ·þÎÞÂë and my reseach focuses on forensic accounting and fraud investigation in financial institutions. 

I am currently a senior lecturer in accounting & finance in the department of AFE. I’m the module leader for ACFI3221 (UG), BMAF5001 (PG) and BMFT5002 (PG). I have the teaching recognition – SFHEA and I’m also an ACCA member. I’m the deputy programme leader for MSc in Accounting & Finance helping to improve the experience and pedagogy practices for students and academics on the programme. As well as being the programme leader for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) modules for M.Sc. in Accounting & Finance (January, 2025).

I started my career as a banker in my home country in 2005 before relocating to Malaysia in 2009. I garnered audit experience between 2010 and 2013 in Malaysia. I started lecturing in Malaysia at a College affiliated to Anglia Ruskin University in 2011. During my 11 years career with the College, I took a lead role in the successful organisation of international conference known as ASCENT (A Scholarly Conference on Emerging Technologies for Information Systems and Business Management) between 2013 and 2021. Linked to the conference are three peer-reviewed research journals with a steadily developing reputation for quality. I played a principal role in the accreditation, delivery, and supervision of Anglia Ruskin University (UK) (MBA) programmes (UG & PG) between 2012 and 2020. I was the head of the professional programme department and my role included coordinating the delivery of ACCA, CIMA and OBU syllabuses. 

As well as being an independent reviewer for a journal, I’m a researcher with several publications and citations. My areas of research include forensic accounting, fraud investigation, sustainability reporting, ESG, Green financing among others. I have won several awards with my publications & presentation including: Most Authoritative Paper Award (Runner Up) – ASCENT (2013), Best paper award in Accounting & Business (ASCENT 2020) Co-authored, Best paper award in Education, Learning and Training (ASCENT 2020) Co-authored. I currently have over 80 citations including five h-index and two i10-index.
